Geraldine Nowee, Balgo

Geraldine is the fifth daughter of Brandy Tjungurrayi (Senior Lore Man - deceased) and Nowee Nangala (deceased) from whom she inherited many Tjukurrpa (Dreaming) stories.

Geraldine learned to paint from years of watching both her mother and her father. Most of her pieces depict various flowers, seeds and bush tucker across the tali (sand dunes), which dominate the Western Australia Desert region at different times of the year.

Geraldine is one of  several artists displayed in a permanent collection at Notre Dame University Library, Broome -  "Visual Story Telling – Painting the Future".
