Sarah Cox, Broome

Sarah Cox is a contemporary Aboriginal artist who lives and works in Broome, Western Australia. She is of Wongai and Banjima descent on her mother’s side and Scottish descent on her father’s side. Her colourful paintings portray stories of her family and life’s experiences. Her unique style emanates joy and peace; and expresses the vibrant spirit of her Aboriginal culture.

The artist explains her paintings "tell a story that cannot be spoken in words, but are felt in the heart. She welcomes people to join her on this visual arts journey."

The word ‘Crimson’ was chosen because her art and stories are in the blood and ‘DesArt’ was chosen because her mob are from the desert….and so Crimson DesArt was made.
